Product description

This bicycle package gives you the opportunity to experience the appealing country side, the beautiful archipelago and the summer pulse in the town of Mariehamn. Enjoy the ferry ride with Eckerö linjen to the Åland islands from Grisslehamn in Sweden. At your arrival in Eckerö you pick up your bike and from here you get going towards Sund where you spend the first night at the guesthouse of Kastelholm. The charming islands of Kumlinge, Kökar and Föglö are next. The second last day you make your way back to Mariehamn where you get a chance to enjoy the activities, restaurants and everything else the town of Mariehamn has to offer. On your last day you make your way back to Eckerö where you drop off your bike and head home. This bicycle package will give you a wonderful experience of Åland!

Level of difficulty

You need to know how to ride a bicycle and be in such physical shape so that you get through the 180 km over 7 days.

How to get there

You get to the Åland Islands by ferry or by airplane. To get to Åland by ferry find more information in the Eckerö Linjen FERRY timetables. If you prefer to travel by air you can find information in the Air Åland AIRPLANE timetables or contact Eckerö Linjen for more information.

This package includes transportation with ferry.

Departure

At 07.45 take the bus from the City terminal (Gate 1) in Stockholm (Sweden) to Grisslehamn.
At 10.00 the ferry departs from Grisslehamn to Eckerö (the Åland Islands).
You will arrive in Eckerö at 13.00 (local time).

Return

At 18.30 home voyage from the Eckerö linjen terminal in Eckerö to Grisslehamn. From Grisslehamn take the bus to Stockholm.

Price includes

A round trip bus ticket (Stockhom-Grisslehamn) and a round-trip ferry ticket (Grisslehamn-Eckerö) with Eckerö Linjen. Six nights’ accommodation incl. bed linen and breakfast at specified locations. Bicycle with three gears, hand and foot brake, bicycle helmet, bicycle basket, bicycle bag, a book and map about Åland and a museum pass for four optional museums and ferry tickets.

It is possible to exchange the bicycle for a mountain bike or a tandem bike for an additional fee.

Detailed product description

At your arrival with Eckerö linjen in Eckerö you will go to RoNo Rent in the harbour where you can pick up your bicycle. From Eckerö you get on your bike towards Sund. On the last day you leave your bike in the harbour in Eckerö and departure with Eckerö Linjen.

Suggestions for accommodation: The first night at the Kastelholm guesthouse in Sund, the second night at the Remmarina cottages in Kumlinge, the third and fourth night at the Klobbars guesthouse in Kökar, the fifth night at Enigheten in Föglö and the sixth night at Övernäsgården in Mariehamn.
