Product description

Explore some of the 24,000 islands in the Stockholm Skargard during a day-long sailing adventure. Most are uninhabited and set in one of the word's most beautiful natural areas in Europe, yet only an hour away from the center of Stockholm. You and your fellow passengers handle the yacht under the oversight of our experienced captain.

Unique wilderness
Someone has counted to more than 24,000 islands and skerries in the Stockholm Archipelgo. Nowhere on earth you can find such richness of islands, so close together and with so many different sizes and shapes. This is now suggested as both a World Heritage site and a National Park. But to get to most of these islands you need your own boat.

Anyone can do it
We offer day sails in the Stockholm Archipelago on which you can book space on one of our luxury 40-52 feet yachts. The sail tour is done under the supervision of our certified captain. We don´t require any previous experience. Your skipper will guide you in the Archipelago, its history, flora, and fauna. And we offer good food as well!

Discover the joy of sailing in the beautiful island world of the Stockholm archipelago with Stockholm Adventures!

How to get there

We start our day tours from the small town of Vaxholm at 09.00 (09.30 Sundays). To get there you travel on your own by ferry from the Strömkajen ferry terminal across the water from the Royal Palace, in front of The Grand Hotel (metro station Kungsträdgården). The ferry leaves at 08.00 (Sundays 08.30). The ride takes 55 minutes and costs SEK 75, children and pensioners SEK 50.

It is also possible to take bus 670 from Danderyds sjukhus to the end station in the port of Vaxholm. You can reach the bus terminal by the red line, direction Mörby Centrum. The bus leaves twice every hour, weekdays more often. See www.sl.se.

The captain will meet you at the landing of the ferry, also close to the bus stop.

The sail tour will finish about 18.00. Count on being back in the city by ferry or bus between 19.30 and 20.00. Most evenings you can chose to return to the city by a classic 100 year old steamer and have a nice dinner onboard. The cruise will take 1 hour 15 minutes. The captain will know the timetable.
