Product description

Here you will find closeness to birdspotting, nature and peace and quiet. Wooden heated sauna and great surroundings will make your stay worthwhile. Backaro, a small, cosy guesthouse located on the island of Nötö within the Archipelago National Park in south-western Finland. The B&B is built and renovated from the old farm house Backa to a comfortable guesthouse with nice and cosy bedrooms and personal athmosphere..

On the entrance floor, we have an "old fashioned" living room for our guests to feel at home in. On the summer veranda we serve breakfast and soup of the day at lunch time. Other meals can be arranged by agreement.

We have preserved the house’s exterior, surroundings and green area. The comforts are a bathroom with shower. Indoor is single electrical dry toilet and of course there is the traditional eco-toilet (dry toilet) outdoors.

We also have a washing machine for our guests. During the summer months, there is a grocherystore for provisions 300 m from the guesthouse. Please contact us for detailed information of service and special arrangements.

Nötö Island has a easy access on a almost daily basis exept monday and wednesday by passengerferry connection all year round. Please contact us for whishes on arrival departure days, as the ferry departuretimes vary depending on the day of the week and public holidays.

Availability

You are welcome to Nötö all year round.

Please, check with us in advance för vacancies at Backaro B&B, as some days of the week there will be no ferry connection during low season.

How to get there

Once across the island of Pargas/Parainen you will need to catch the (free) yellow ferry to the island Nagu/Nauvo. The ferry is directly on the road and the timetble is available here. Pärnäs is situated at the western end of Nagu. You should allow 90 minutes for the journey from Kaarina to Pärnäs.

Once in Pärnäs, park your car in the designated parking area adjacent to the harbour and start a enjoyable journey through the beautiful archipelago with the ferry m/s Eivor, bound for Utö, which visits Nötö en route. Ferry timetables are shown below and the jorney to Nötö takes about 90 minitutes. Note that the ferriers do not run both ways every day.

You may also make the sea jorney by taxi-boat, which must pre-ordered. Pärnäs may be reached by the bus Turku/Korppo which leaves from Turku bus station platform 3 . Once in Nötö, you will see a sign showing he path to Backaro ; the house is about 200 m from the harbour.

Thus the guest house of Backaro has more than enough room for 16 people to stay comfortably.
